Why did I join the TGI family?

As the newest member of the TGI family, I wanted to reach out to you today to thank you and wish you and your families happiness, health and success in 2025.

After thirty years in the industry, I have decided to pursue a new opportunity as Chief Strategy Officer at Tire Group International.

I was blessed to start my career with one of my best friends, Will Tolerton, and to have been mentored by his father Terry Tolerton. The learnings, success and the memories that I enjoyed over those 20 years were foundational to me as a husband, father and friend are irreplaceable. And, the TTT Legacy that still exists in our industry is undeniable.

In 2014, I joined ATD and was able to grow as professionally and personally as a sales leader. I served in many leadership roles at ATD over my ten-year career; most recently, as Senior Vice President of National Sales. In that role, I was able work with an incredible team of individuals and led many strategic initiatives. Certainly, we were dealt our fair share of challenges but I am most proud of how we continually responded with humility, integrity and tenacity.

But, for those of you that know me, I am an ambassador for change. Part of my drive is to continually challenge status quo and drive a growth culture that embraces a “learn it all” mentality as opposed to a “know it all” mentality.

As a result, I decided to accept an opportunity to partner with my “brothers”, Tony and Joaquin Gonzalez. I first met the Gonzalez family in 1997 and we quickly became part of their family and have been blessed to have been able to witness the love and commitment to family and friends that they so eloquently embrace. And, to have been able to once again be mentored by another industry legend, Joaquin Gonzalez Sr. (Pipo) was a blessing that I will never forget.

So, in the end, I have a great friend/mentor that told me that “You don’t ever want to run from anything BUT if you have a chance to run towards something then you should strongly consider doing so”. And, as difficult as it was to leave my ATD brothers and sisters, the opportunity to join the TGI family was something that I could not resist.
