Hello,

My name is Rocio Grandez, and I am the Executive Assistant at Tire Group International (TGI). I arrived in the United States in March 2000 from Lima, Peru, with an academic background in Industrial Engineering. When I first joined TGI, I faced a significant challenge—my limited English skills. Communicating with managers and colleagues who didn’t speak Spanish was difficult, making my transition even more challenging.
Despite being thrown into the deep end of sales and supplier demands, I managed to navigate these challenges with minimal English. (My CEO trusted that I would find a way to swim rather than sink.) Adapting, learning, and excelling was not easy, but persistence and perseverance brought me to where I am today.
But God’s plans always surprise me, often exceeding my own expectations.

This month, I celebrate twenty-five years as part of this incredible company, which I proudly call “Our TGI Family.”
The years have passed quickly, yet I still feel the same excitement and joy coming to work today as I did on my very first day.
Through market shifts and challenges, I have stood by TGI in both good times and difficult ones. I witnessed a pandemic that, surprisingly, revealed the resilience and strength of every team member. I have met incredible people—some of whom I am fortunate to still work alongside, while others are deeply missed.
After fifteen years working  in Sales, I embarked on a new journey in the Marketing Department, an experience that has been both exciting and fulfilling.

As a company, we have overcome every challenge because we understand that each team member is an essential part of a greater vision. At TGI, we are more than just coworkers—we are family.
Nothing can stand in our way because we are, The great TGI Family Team!

I share my story humbly, hoping that anyone facing similar challenges will know they are not alone.
