The TGI Way

It’s often talked about — for good reason — that TGI truly makes you feel like you’re part of a family.
Looking at the history of our blog posts, I know I’m not treading any new ground talking about this. But after working in the tire industry since 2011, and being around it my entire life before starting my career, I’d be remiss not to highlight again how truly unique TGI is to work with. And if I had to sum up what makes TGI so special, it would be:

Familia Es Todo
When you take a 10,000-ft view of any of our teams — whether it’s Miami, Tampa, Portland, or Orlando — you’ll find that from top to bottom there’s genuine connection, care, and support between all of us.
A perfectly imperfect group of people, all aligned toward one goal: to be the best place to do business with in the tire industry.
We strive to show up differently for our customers, making them feel like extensions of our family. We’re willing to do that little extra to make someone’s day better or help them in a time of need.
It can be as simple as dropping off the latest Cosmo Stickers, or loading tires in our car last minute to make sure our customer has them in time for their customer.
It’s not a forced desire to show up this way — it’s natural.
It’s instilled in us from the team around us.
It’s The TGI Way.

What Makes Us Different
There’s a lot of competition out there that can get someone a tire, but I promise you — there’s not another company that shows up for people the way we do.
What makes us different is what makes us special.
And what makes us special is the family support we have for each other and the passion behind what we do.
“Selling Happiness Since 1992” isn’t just a slogan or marketing tagline — it’s a legacy of what TGI is all about.
We don’t just sell tires; we build genuine connections and watch the business continue to grow as a result.
Working for TGI instills a swagger — or an aura, as the kids would say — that attracts and grows business organically. We don’t chase, we attract. It’s an effortless effort that makes the magic happen.

An Example In Action
Here’s a perfect example.
I have a customer in Eastern Washington that I met while working for another company. After joining TGI, I converted his business to come from our warehouse in Portland because we could offer better service.
We introduced him to our Cosmo brand, and he started to bring some in. His business is 80% commercial, so PLT is a smaller part of their operation.
In the span of a quarter, they went from ordering zero Cosmo units to over 150, all while doing minimal marketing around the brand.
When I asked how it was going, they said customers were actively asking about Cosmo because the labels stood out, the designs are awesome, and they loved the stickers.
In a year filled with price increases and uncertainty, having a brand that makes it easy to start a conversation is invaluable.
In a short time, we proved we’re a partner who makes doing business easy and helps give their customers a memorable experience.

The Real Work Behind the Magic
I know, all this makes it sound like it’s always easy to do what we do. It’s not.
There are ups and downs and unforeseen challenges every day. And like in any family, there’s going to be some bickering at the dinner table from time to time. There are days when we’ll be frustrated with each other, but you know what makes those challenges easier to overcome?
Knowing what you do and who you are is valued and appreciated.
We challenge each other to bring out the best in one another and to make sure we always show up for our customers in the best way possible. Feedback comes from a place of love and desire to be better.

The Heart of The TGI Way
Time and time again, I’ve seen people be genuinely appreciated for what they do and bring to this company.
You’ll always be celebrated for your wins and embraced and supported in your losses.
There’s not another company that shows the level of love, loyalty, and support that TGI brings — and that’s what helps us navigate the tough days and come out stronger for it.
Every company talks about culture, but few live it the way TGI does.
It’s not about slogans or meetings — it’s about people.
People who care.
People who show up.
People who remind you that work can feel like home.
Whether it’s helping a teammate, supporting a customer, or growing a brand like Cosmo, it’s about one relationship at a time.
That’s the legacy I’m proud to be part of and hope to continue to foster.

That’s The TGI Way.
