This 1997 Land Rover Defender 110 TD will be participating a series of races to prepare for the 2028 Dakar Rally. Tire Group International’s Cosmo Tires is partnering with off-road build specialist D-Boss Old Garage to launch the Road to Dakar Classic Series 2026-2028.

Cosmo said the multi-year initiative will culminate in the participation in the 2028 Dakar Rally in Saudi Arabia — the off-road endurance event called the world’s toughest motor race.

According to Cosmo, the collaboration focuses around a fully restored and competition-prepared 1997 Land Rover Defender 110 TDI, known for its durability and off-road abilities.

D-Boss Old Garage, a workshop based in the Canary Islands, Spain, and known for its Land Rover Series and Defender experience in restorations, is developing the vehicle.
